Sergey Belov
Biography
Sergey was born in 1971 in Krasnodar.
He graduated from Krasnodar Art College in 1990 and completed his studies at the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in 1998, specialising in monumental painting.
His graduation painting, Moscow Evening, received a state scholarship in recognition of artistic achievement.
Alongside his independent studio practice, Belov has developed a distinguished teaching career and teaches painting at the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute.
He is a member of several professional artists’ associations.
His works are represented in museum, institutional and private collections, including the Museum of Moscow, the Museum of the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in Armenia, and the collection of Count A. W. Faber-Castell in Germany.
Belov’s paintings are also held in private collections and galleries internationally.
He has participated on several occasions in Sotheby’s ArtLink projects in New York and Tel Aviv and regularly exhibits internationally.
His practice combines a strong academic foundation with a monumental sense of composition and a particular sensitivity to light, space and atmosphere.
